Chapter 6
Chapter 6: The Silence That Wasn't
The winged figure descends, threatening to end the world in silence. Samira and the group must make a final stand, confronting the truth behind the rapture and finding a way to close the gate for good. The woman from the pit reveals her identity, and Samira uses the remnant of the disc's power to seal the false angel away, restoring the world but leaving it forever changed.
The winged figure descended, its black wings blotting out the sky. The flat, endless hum vibrated through Samira's bones, pressing against her thoughts. The others stood frozen—Amir's hand tight on her arm, Chloe whispering a prayer, Marcus muttering something about frequencies, Liam gripping his crowbar, Garcia aiming her shotgun at the descending shape.
“Don't shoot,” Samira said. “Not yet.”
The figure landed on the asphalt thirty feet away. Its wings folded, tattered and wet. Its eyes burned blue, and its face was smooth, expressionless, like a mask carved from bone. The hum stopped. The silence that followed was worse—absolute, pressing against the eardrums.
