The Voice in the Crystal
Eddie, Anya, and Zara face the corrupted crystal as black ooze hands rise to attack. Anya discovers a way to enter the crystal, but the process is dangerous. Inside, they find a trapped being named Kairos, who has been imprisoned by the dark force. Kairos joins them after being freed, but warns of a greater threat. They escape as the forest begins to heal, but the crystal's collapse sends a shockwave across dimensions, alerting the enemy. The group gains a new ally and a clearer sense of the stakes.
The black ooze rose like a tide of grasping fingers, each one reaching for Eddie's ankles. He jumped back, pulling Zara with him. Anya scrambled onto a fallen log, her device flashing red. "We need to move!" she shouted. "It's reacting to our presence!"
The crystal pulsed again, and the voice returned, deeper this time, like stones grinding at the bottom of a river. "The child of two worlds. The tiger with a human heart. You will not leave this place."
Eddie's tiger stripes flickered across his arms, sharp and bright. He faced the crystal, planting his feet. "I don't plan on leaving without stopping you."
