Crisis Point
A critical system failure or an external threat forces the crew to confront their rivalries. They must unite to survive, a collaboration that begins to shed light on Elara's connection to the unfolding danger.
The hum of the station, usually a comforting lullaby, had become a discordant whine. It started subtly, a flicker in the main viewport, a momentary stutter in the life support readings. Then, it escalated. Alarms, once a rarity, now blared with an unsettling frequency, each siren wail a fresh prick of fear in the already frayed nerves of the crew. The artificial gravity wavered, sending loose tools skittering across the deck and forcing the inhabitants to brace themselves against bulkheads.
Ricky, his face etched with a weariness that went beyond mere lack of sleep, stood in the command center, his knuckles white where he gripped the console. The readouts were a chaotic symphony of red alerts. "Report!" he barked, his voice tight with controlled urgency.
"Primary power conduit fluctuating, Commander," Jian replied, his usual calm replaced by a frantic energy as he manipulated his own console. "It's like… like something is actively draining it. Not a malfunction, Commander. It feels deliberate."
