My father, the King, had summoned me again. His chambers, usually a place of quiet authority, now resonated with a disquieting tension. He sat behind his grand iroko desk, his brow furrowed, the regal lines of his face etched deeper with worry. Beside him, his most trusted advisor, the elder Chibwe, stood like a stoic sentinel, his gaze fixed on some unseen point beyond the polished wood.
“Tafara,” my father began, his voice a low rumble, “we have news. Chibwe has been diligently pursuing the threads of this… treachery.”
