Chapter 12
Episode 12
Mother dragon and her family put crystals and food and a waterfall in her cave and they all live happily ever after and the dragon Vinland is still out there somewhere
The task of transforming their new, cavernous home into a true sanctuary was a labor of love, a final flourish to the unfolding chapter of their lives. Mother Dragon, her scales still bearing the subtle gleam of recent victory, led the charge. Her mate, Vinland, ever watchful, assisted with the heavier tasks, his strong jaws capable of dislodging massive stones for decorative effect. The hatchlings, now robust and eager, darted about, their small claws scrabbling at the rocky walls, mimicking their parents’ efforts with boundless energy.
First, they sought out the luminous crystals. Mother Dragon remembered the shimmering veins she had glimpsed during her quest, the ones that pulsed with a gentle, inner light. With Vinland clearing paths and the young ones acting as scouts, they ventured out, their flights shorter now, their territories more familiar. They returned with fragments of amethyst, quartz that caught the faintest glimmer of sunlight, and obsidian that held the deep, velvety darkness of the night sky. These they meticulously placed along the cave's interior, their facets catching and refracting the light, bathing their new abode in a soft, ethereal glow.
Next came the sustenance. The surrounding lands, now safe and teeming with life, offered an abundance of choice. They hunted with practiced ease, bringing back plump, unsuspecting prey, their movements fluid and coordinated, a testament to the lessons learned. But it wasn't just about survival; it was about making their home a place of comfort and delight. They gathered sweet berries that stained their claws purple, fragrant herbs that filled the air with a calming aroma, and rare, glowing fungi that added another layer of soft luminescence to their growing treasure trove.
