The farmhouse walls trembled with each pulse of the mountain. Issa pressed her back against the stone, feeling the vibration travel through her spine. Beside her, Leandros had not let go of her hand. His grip was warm, steady, grounding.
Marcus moved to the window and peered through a crack in the shutter. "The ash is thicker now. I cannot see the road."
"Can we stay here?" Issa asked.
