The sterile white of the briefing room seemed to mock the chaos brewing just beyond its reinforced doors. Jack Lennox, his gaze sharp and unwavering, leaned forward, the holographic display of satellite imagery shimmering before him. Reaper, a silent sentinel at his feet, let out a low rumble, a subtle vibration against the polished floor. The air crackled with a tension that was as familiar to Jack as the weight of his FN SCAR-H slung across his back.
“The intel is solid,” Captain Dubois of the French Gendarmerie Nationale stated, his voice a low baritone that cut through the room’s hushed atmosphere. He gestured to a cluster of red markers on the map. “Multiple cells, coordinated strikes. They’re not just looking to destabilize; they’re aiming for decapitation.”
Jack’s jaw tightened. Decapitation. The word hung in the air, heavy with implication. It meant the Royal Family was the primary target. His family. Layla, his sons, King Hassan, Queen Asha, even Amira – they were all in the crosshairs.
