The Berry Chase Begins

Sammy lures Bartholomew with promises of the most delicious berries. The chase leads them far from the meadow, through forests and over hills.

Sammy, a creature composed of pure, unadulterated indignation and a surprising amount of sparkle, hovered just above Bartholomew’s colossal, snoozing snout. The dragon, a mountain of emerald scales and slumber, let out a gentle puff of smoke that smelled faintly of roasted marshmallows and regret. Regret for what, Sammy didn't know, but it was definitely there. And Sammy intended to add to it.

“Alright, you overgrown lizard,” Sammy whispered, her voice a furious squeak that somehow managed to carry the weight of a thousand tiny grievances. “This is it. The final straw! My meadow is not your personal, gigantic, snore-filled pillow!”

Bartholomew’s tail twitched, a slow, ponderous movement that sent a tremor through the ground. He mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like, “Mmm, more… fluffy clouds…”
