Silas attempts to seize the Third Gate, clashing with Elara. The battle causes a severe temporal rift, threatening to erase parts of their shared reality.
The air tasted like static, like the moments before a storm, but thicker, heavier. It clung to my tongue and settled in my lungs, making each breath a conscious effort. Silas. His name was a cold knot in my stomach, a shadow that had been growing longer with every strange happening. Master Chronos had warned me, his voice a low rumble of concern, but nothing had prepared me for this.
We stood on the edge of a place that wasn't quite a place. It shimmered, like heat rising from a summer road, but instead of blurring the edges of the world, it seemed to *pull* them in. The third Gate. It pulsed with a deep, resonant hum, a sound I felt more than heard, vibrating in my bones. It was beautiful, a swirling vortex of emerald and gold, but it felt wrong, corrupted.
Silas was already there, a figure of sharp angles and dark purpose. He stood before the Gate, his hands outstretched, fingers splayed as if trying to grasp the very essence of its power. Around him, the shimmering air writhed, twisting into unnatural shapes. I could feel Anya’s fear, a faint echo from far away, a tiny thread tugging at my heart. I had to do this. For her. For everyone.
