Chapter 6
The Bloom of Hope
Having passed the guardian's test, Rama returns with the Glowing Seed. He plants it in the heart of his village. A magnificent tree erupts, its light banishing the blight. Life and color return, and Rama is hailed as the hero.
Rama’s return was not heralded by trumpets or jubilant crowds, but by the hushed, anxious whispers of a village teetering on the brink. Elder Maeve, her ancient face a roadmap of seasons and sorrows, emerged from her humble cottage, her gaze steady and knowing as it met Rama’s. There was no need for words. She saw the pouch, felt the subtle hum of its contents, and her lips curved into a fragile smile, a flicker of hope in her tired eyes.
“You have returned, Rama,” she said, her voice a low murmur, barely disturbing the oppressive stillness. “And you carry the promise.”
