Chapter 5
The Frosty Rivalry
Gordon Jameson, an Ice element user and Marianne's 'anti-enemy,' joins their quest, his cold exterior hiding a shared goal of stopping Poison Ninja.
The biting wind whipped Marianne’s hair around her face, each gust a frigid kiss that promised frostbite. She shivered, pulling the worn leather of her jacket tighter, though it offered little solace against the encroaching chill. Beside her, Adrian, ever the picture of composure, seemed unfazed, his movements fluid and graceful as he navigated the treacherous, ice-slicked path. He offered no commentary on the biting cold, and Marianne found herself resenting his apparent indifference. He was the antithesis of everything she was – cool where she was hot, fluid where she was rigid, a constant, quiet challenge to her volatile nature.
Adrian paused, his gaze sweeping across the desolate, snow-laden landscape. A faint smile touched his lips, a subtle shift in his otherwise serene expression. “The map is clear, Marianne. And besides,” he gestured vaguely towards a jagged peak shrouded in mist, “the energy signatures are strongest in that direction. If what Erica said is true, our… associate… will be waiting there.”
