The fluorescent lights of Sterling & Finch hummed with their usual indifferent buzz, a sound that had once been background noise but now seemed to amplify the weariness that clung to Lancy's friends like a damp coat. Mandy, her usually vibrant curls a little lank, sighed as she scrolled through a spreadsheet, her brow furrowed.
