Elara touches a Resonator pad, conjuring fragmented memories of an ancient war. She sees figures wielding similar instruments, a battle of sound.
Elara’s fingers hovered over the Resonator, a hesitant dance of curiosity and trepidation. The instrument pulsed with a low, resonant hum, a sound that had become as familiar to her as her own heartbeat. The village was still, bathed in the muted twilight that had begun to settle over their world. The creeping dissonance, the insidious thief of color and sound, had left its mark even here, a faint grey film over the vibrant hues that once danced in the air. Elder Maeve had spoken of it, of the sorrow that clung to the edges of existence, and Elara felt a prickle of unease.
Her gaze fell upon a particular pad on the Resonator, one she hadn't dared to touch before. It was etched with a symbol that seemed both ancient and strangely familiar, a swirl of lines that hinted at something vast and deep. It felt different from the others, not a song of mending or a melody of light, but something… older. A whisper of what had been.
Taking a deep breath, Elara pressed her fingertip to the pad.
