The tempest of sorrow that had swirled around Elara, a maelstrom of grey and the chilling silence, began to recede. It wasn't a sudden vanishing, but a slow, gentle unraveling, like a tightly wound ball of yarn finally loosening its grip. The oppressive weight in the air lightened, and the sharp edges of the jagged peaks softened, as if the very stone was exhaling a sigh of relief. Elara, her fingers still resting on the cool, familiar pads of her Resonator, watched as the vortex of dissonance thinned, revealing glimpses of the sky once more.

The sorrow itself didn’t disappear. It was too deeply woven into the fabric of the Peaks, a lingering echo of a pain too vast to simply be erased. But now, it felt different. It was no longer a raging storm, but a quiet, melancholic hum, a mournful song that finally had a space to be heard without drowning out everything else. Elara had sung her melody of understanding, of acceptance, and in doing so, had offered a balm to the ancient wound.

Faintly, like the first tentative notes of a dawn chorus, music began to drift on the wind. It was a fragile sound at first, hesitant and shy, but it was undeniably there. Colors, too, began to bleed back into the landscape. The stark grey of the rocks warmed with hints of ochre and umber, and the sparse, hardy moss clinging to the cliffs seemed to deepen its verdant hue. A single, brave wildflower, a splash of defiant violet, unfurled its petals near Elara’s feet.
