The final reverberations of the cosmic engine’s hum faded, leaving Elara in a silence so profound it felt like a physical presence. She blinked, the stark white light of the labyrinth’s core still imprinted on her vision. The air, once thick with the thrum of destabilizing equations, now felt calm, almost ethereal. She was back, standing on the smooth, geometric floor of the central chamber, the cross-shaped labyrinth stretching out around her, no longer a threat, but a symphony of perfectly aligned angles.

Her calculations, her understanding, her desperate leap of faith into the heart of the unknown, had worked.

Slowly, tentatively, she began to walk. The corridors that had once twisted and turned with a malevolent intent now seemed to flow, their lines clean and purposeful. The cubes, once shifting and threatening to crush her, stood firm, their faces reflecting the soft, diffused light that now permeated the entire structure. It was as if the labyrinth itself had exhaled, releasing its tension, settling into a new, harmonious configuration.
