The morning sun, once a pale and hesitant visitor, now blazed with a revitalizing warmth across the land. It kissed the parched earth, not with the harsh glare of a relentless tyrant, but with the gentle caress of a loving parent. And where its golden rays fell, a miracle unfolded. Khepri stood on the palace balcony, his heart a symphony of relief and wonder, and watched as life, vibrant and defiant, surged back into his kingdom.

The fields, which only days before had been a tapestry of wilting brown and sickly yellow, were now a riot of verdant green. Tender shoots, impossibly strong, pushed through the soil, their leaves unfurling with a joyful eagerness Khepri had only dared to dream of. The blight, that insidious shadow that had clung to his people’s hopes, was receding, banished by the single, luminous tear of the griffin. It was as if the very essence of the desert’s resilience, distilled into that precious drop, had awakened the dormant spirit of Egypt.

A soft rustle behind him announced the arrival of his most trusted advisor, Imhotep. The old man’s eyes, usually etched with the weariness of worry, now sparkled with an almost boyish delight. He held a small, intricately carved wooden bird, its wings outstretched as if in flight.
