The victory, if it could be called that, felt hollow, a temporary reprieve rather than a true triumph. The Eclipse Deity was still out there, a phantom threat lurking at the edges of existence, and the weight of that knowledge pressed down on us, a shared burden that had somehow forged a new, unsettling intimacy.
Xime sat across from me, his usual fiery aura subdued, his gaze fixed on the intricate patterns of the mosaic floor.
