The air in the library was thick with the scent of aging paper and the hushed reverence of forgotten stories. Dust motes danced in the slivers of sunlight that pierced the tall, arched windows, illuminating rows upon rows of books that held the town of Havenwood’s collective memory. They were cracks in the foundation of their reality.
