The studio, usually a sanctuary of scent and color, now felt like a room holding its breath. Dust motes danced in the slivers of sunlight that pierced the grimy windows, illuminating the chaos Elara had inadvertently created. Canvases leaned against walls like sleeping giants, tubes of paint lay scattered like fallen soldiers, and the air, thick with turpentine and linseed oil, hummed with an unspoken tension.
