She’d been staring at the blank canvas for hours, the brush heavy in her hand, but the vibrant hues of her imagination seemed to have retreated, leaving only a dull, grey expanse. The ache in her nose, a dull throb that had become a constant companion, pulsed with a frustrating rhythm, mirroring the stagnation in her creative flow. It was like a tiny, persistent drummer, keeping time with her anxieties.
A soft knock at the studio door made her jump. Dr. Finch. He always seemed to appear when the shadows in her mind grew too long, a reassuring presence with his calm demeanor and kind eyes.
“Elara? May I come in?” His voice, a gentle baritone, drifted through the wood.
