The air in the Forgotten Grove always held a different quality, a hushed reverence that settled over me like a familiar cloak. Today, however, it felt heavier, charged with an unspoken anticipation. Klaus, his presence a quiet storm beside me, walked with a grace that defied the tangled roots and fallen branches beneath our feet. Sunlight, fractured by the dense canopy, dappled his face, illuminating the sharp planes of his cheekbones and the depths of his eyes, which seemed to hold the wisdom of ages.

"You feel it, don't you?" he murmured, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through the stillness. "The grove remembers."

I nodded, my gaze sweeping across the ancient oaks, their bark gnarled like the hands of old storytellers. It was true. Since my return, the grove had begun to whisper to me, not in words, but in sensations – a prickle on my skin, a sudden chill in the warmth, the phantom touch of a breeze that wasn't there. It was as if the trees themselves were breathing, exhaling secrets they had held for centuries.
