Chapter 25

Poem #5

Smoke signals rise from the peaks, Sending chills that pierce the night, Will I wake to dawn's embrace, Or vanish like a whisper in flight? The Coyote's song echoes near, Mountain Cats growl from the dark, What's lurking in the brush, I fear— A hidden world on edge, but stark. Will time devour my fleeting breath, Reducing me to dust and dream? These shadows dance with the scent of death, Yet hope flickers like starlight's gleam. In silence deep and Twilight. The Coyote's howl weaves through the air, Mountain Cats prowl with a silent glare. What specters lurk in shadows' grasp? A hidden realm held tight—no clasp. Will time consume my fleeting breath, Reducing me to whispers and death? These silhouettes waltz with the scent of dread, Yet hope glimmers where the starlight's led. In silence thick as twilight’s fold, My heart is pierced it's bleeding red. I will never forget You My dear love sadly words were left unsaid.
