“Daughter of the Crimson Moon,” a voice, dry and brittle as parchment, whispered from the shadows. It was Elara, the first to bear the mark of the Obsidian Star, her magic a raw, untamed force that had shaped our lineage.
Another voice, deeper, resonant with the rumble of the earth, followed. “You seek the path, child, but the path is paved with sorrow.” It was Borin, the sorcerer who had communed with the very heart of the mountains, his power a formidable shield against encroaching darkness.
