The Lost Daughter
Tee, Flanan, Keira, and Asher rest at the cabin after breaking the locket. The next morning, a young woman named Kyla arrives, revealing herself as Tee's long-hidden daughter. Kyla explains she has been searching for Keira for years and offers to take her to a safe haven. Tee must confront her past and decide whether to trust this new family member.
Dawn crept through the cracks in the cabin's boarded windows, painting thin lines of gold across the dusty floor. Tee stirred by the cold hearth, her neck aching from sleeping against the rough wall. The fire had died hours ago, leaving only gray ash and the faint smell of smoke. She blinked, her eyes adjusting to the pale light, and looked around the small room.
Keira lay curled on the cot, Asher's hand still resting on hers. The locket had been destroyed, but the shadow of its hold lingered in the shadows under Keira's eyes. Flanan sat by the door, his knife in his hand, his gaze fixed on the door. He turned when he heard Tee move.
"Rest well?" he asked softly.
