A Lesson in Sharing
Douglee approaches Grumblet, not with anger, but with understanding. He explains how the sun's light is vital for all life on Lumina.
Douglee landed with a gentle thud beside Rocket, the soft, stardust-dusted ground of Lumina cushioning their arrival. The air here, usually a warm caress, felt thin and cool, carrying with it a hint of despair. Above them, Lumina’s sun, a once-radiant beacon, now flickered like a dying ember, casting long, melancholic shadows across the alien landscape. Ambassador Zorp, their shimmering, multi-faceted form radiating a palpable sadness, glided towards them.
“Douglee, Rocket,” Zorp’s voice, a melody of chimes and whispers, resonated with urgency. “The dimming… it worsens. Our crops wither, our homes grow cold. We are fading.”
Douglee’s heart ached for the Luminians. He’d seen their vibrant cities, their joyous festivals, all bathed in the glorious light of their sun. To imagine that light extinguished was a bleak, unbearable thought. Rocket nudged Douglee’s hand with his wet nose, a silent offering of support.
