Chapter 2
An Unlikely Encounter
While fixing his destructive car, Dimminzz meets Mellidy, a polar bear, and Anna, a unicorn. They invite him to join Mr. Bluey's superhero group, despite his villainous reputation.
The acrid smell of burnt rubber and spilled oil clung to Dimminzz like a second skin. He ran a clawed hand over the dented hood of his car, a grotesque monument to his despair. Each scratch, each scorch mark, was a testament to the years of emptiness that had hollowed him out since Delen and Asteroid had been ripped from his life. Dilea, his shadow, his constant reminder of what he’d lost and what he still had to protect, was tucked away safely in their cavernous lair, blissfully unaware of the gnawing darkness that consumed his twin. The unicorn’s mane flowed like a rainbow caught in a breeze, and its horn spiralled towards the sky, radiating a gentle light.
Dimminzz’s hackles rose. Intruders. His first instinct was to roar, to unleash the fury that still simmered beneath his grief. But something held him back. There was a strange innocence about them, a lack of malice that was disarming. He cautiously dismounted the car, his powerful frame casting a long shadow.
“Who are you?” his voice rumbled, deeper than usual, rough from disuse in anything but commands of destruction.
The polar bear took a tentative step forward. “I’m Mellidy,” he said, his voice surprisingly soft, like the whisper of wind over snow. “And this is Anna.”
The unicorn dipped its head gracefully. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Anna’s voice was like the tink
