Elara traced the edge of the rough-hewn chest, her fingers finding purchase on the intricate carvings that seemed to writhe under her touch. But now, with Kaelen’s words still resonating in her mind, a strange pull drew her here.

“It is not a curse, Elara,” Kaelen had said, his voice a low rumble that had vibrated through her very bones. “It is a key.”
