Life, I’ve discovered, is a lot like a pair of mismatched socks. Sometimes it’s perfectly ordinary, a comforting hum of predictability. Other times, it’s utterly bonkers, a whirlwind of talking hosiery and GPS-enabled phones that suggest you serenade shrubbery. And the best part? You never know which you’re going to get. Since the whole sock-finding escapade, my world has definitely tilted a few degrees toward the bonkers, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Its screen, once a portal to treasure maps, now displays a rather charming, if slightly wobbly, animated flower that blooms when I’m feeling particularly cheerful. Its advice has become less about singing to trees (though I still do that sometimes, just in case) and more about practical, yet still odd, suggestions. If I’m struggling to find my keys, it might prompt, “Perhaps they’ve eloped with the TV remote? Check under the sofa cushions, they’re notorious for their clandestine meetings.” It’s usually right.
