The air in Whisper hung thick and cloying, a suffocating blanket woven from the stench of fear and something far fouler. Bishop Dark, his hand resting on the hilt of Soul Sun, felt it like a physical weight pressing down on his chest. The revelation had been a gut punch, a vile twist in an already god-awful tapestry.
