Chapter 15
The Test of Harmony
Da PrEAChEr must find a way to harmonize with the dimension's energies, rather than fight them. His internal state directly influences his external reality.
The PrEAChEr found himself adrift, not in water, but in a sea of pure, unadulterated awareness. The silence he had so diligently cultivated within his mind had blossomed into an infinite expanse, a canvas upon which reality itself was being painted. Yet, this brilliance, this celestial glow that had once been his objective, now felt like a blinding shroud. He had reached the summit, but the air was thin, the path forward obscured. His breath hitched, a ragged sound in the profound quiet, and he realized that the absence of thought, the blank slate he had so desperately sought, had left him without rudder or sail. He was a seed cast into a cosmos, waiting for a soil that might never come.
He’d expected answers, a grand unveiling. Instead, there was only… more. More of the same ethereal luminescence, more of the weightless drift. He tried to grasp for a familiar anchor, a memory, a sensation, but his mind, trained to shed such attachments, offered nothing but a smooth, polished emptiness. This was the paradox: the ultimate freedom was also the ultimate constraint. He had emptied himself, but in doing so, had removed the very tools needed to navigate the vastness he now inhabited.
Then, the whispers began. Not the soft murmurs he had heard in the void, but something more resonant, more… alive. They seemed to emanate from the very fabric of this place, weaving through the light like threads of shimmering sound. He couldn't discern words, not in any language he knew, but he felt their intent, a gentle thrumming that suggested a call, a question. He tried to focus, to hone in on a single thread, but as he did, the light around him pulsed, shifting its intensity, its hue. It was as if his very attention was a stone dropped into a still pond, and the ripples were the dimension’s response.
