The air in the chamber was thick, not with the usual scent of polished stone and nervous sweat, but with a cloying sweetness that reminded Crimson Silk of wilting lilies. Beige walls, once a comforting canvas for the tournament's stark pronouncements, now seemed to absorb all light, rendering the space claustrophobic. Across from her, The Weaver’s form shimmered, a tapestry of shifting hues that had once seemed like a comforting embrace, now a disquieting kaleidoscope. The whispers that had begun in the shadowed corridors of the tournament grounds had coalesced into a deafening roar in her mind, a symphony of dawning horror.

"You don't understand, Silk," The Weaver's voice, once a silken caress, now held an edge of brittle amusement. The illusion of concern had evaporated, leaving behind something cold and ancient. "You were never meant to win. Not in the way you imagined."

Crimson Silk’s grip tightened on the hilt of her blade, the familiar weight a small anchor in the swirling chaos. The Barret, slung across her back, felt like a foreign burden. This was not the arena she knew. This was a stage set for a performance she hadn't auditioned for, a role she was only now realizing was a tragedy.
