The air in the Weaver’s private chambers was thick with the scent of exotic incense and the low hum of unseen mechanisms. Crimson Silk, draped in a robe the color of a bruised twilight, felt the weight of it settle upon her like a shroud. The Weaver, a figure of shifting shadows and silken whispers, gestured with a hand adorned with rings that gleamed like trapped starlight. “You excel, my dear,” the voice, a melody of honey and ice, purred. “The preliminary rounds were… instructive. Your prowess, a dazzling spectacle.”

Crimson Silk inclined her head, her crimson gaze meeting the Weaver’s unseen eyes. “I fought as I was trained.” A subtle evasion. She knew, with a certainty that chilled her to the bone, that her training had been a carefully curated path, each lesson a gilded step leading her closer to this gilded cage. The Weaver’s tutelage had been a double-edged sword, honing her skills while simultaneously weaving a narrative of dependence.

“And so you shall continue,” the Weaver continued, their words flowing like water over polished stones. “But remember, the true prize is not merely victory. It is the understanding that comes with it. The secrets we unveil, the depths we plumb.” They paused, a deliberate silence that hung heavy in the opulent room. “Your companions, the Strikers… they are valuable, yes. But their loyalties are… fluid. They are drawn to the roar of the crowd, the glint of gold. You, Crimson Silk, are different. You seek something more profound.”
