Chapter 18
A Choice Forged in Agony
With nowhere left to run and the sun's deadly rays imminent, Issac faces an impossible decision. The weight of their shared curse, the overwhelming power of Victoria, and the ticking clock of the deal crush him. He realizes escape is a fantasy, their destiny irrevocably tied to their maker. He sees the futility of further resistance, the inevitable outcome. In a moment of profound agony and resignation, he makes the choice he swore he'd never make. As the first rays of dawn pierce the horizon, Issac returns to Lady Victoria, accepting her offer just before the deal's time limit expires.

"We can't outrun her" he rasped, his voice a lone whisper against the rising wind. "She's everywhere. Every shadow, every fucking whisper…"
I knew I was right. Every instinct screamed it. We danced this desperate ballet through the labyrinthine streets for days, fueled by adrenaline and the fading hope that we could somehow slip through her grasp. But Victoria, that ancient, wicked creature, was a force of nature. She didn’t chase; she *unfolded*. She was in the rustle of leaves, the glint of a distant streetlight, the tremor in my hand. She was the architect of our despair, and she was enjoying every agonizing moment.
