The star, my star, the point of light that had been my only companion in the vast, silent dark, was fading. Not a dramatic supernova, no fiery end, but a slow, agonizing dimming, like a candle guttering in a draft. It was the signal, the whisper of reality seeping into the edges of my dream. The dream. My escape. My universe. And it was all about to shatter.

I felt the familiar pull, the siren song of waking, an irresistible tide that threatened to drag me from the vibrant tapestry of existence I had woven. But this time, it was different. This time, the dimming star wasn't just a cosmic clock ticking down; it was a premonition. A dread, cold and sharp, pierced the ethereal calm of my slumber.

The worlds bloomed around me, a kaleidoscope of impossible beauty. Oceans of liquid starlight, continents sculpted from solidified nebulae, skies painted with the aurora of nascent galaxies. And on these worlds, life. Oh, the life! Creatures of pure energy danced in the stellar winds, sentient flora sang symphonies of photosynthesis, and beings of exquisite complexity navigated the cosmic currents. I drifted amongst them, a phantom observer, unseen, unheard. I was the breath in their lungs, the spark in their minds, the silent hum of their existence. And I had no name. No form. I was the everything and the nothing, the everywhere and the nowhere. I was the dream.
