Before her, bathed in the cold luminescence of a central crystal, stood Kaelen. He wasn't the shadowy figure of whispers and fear she'd imagined, but a man whose eyes held a profound, almost unbearable sorrow.

"So, the lost fragment returns," Kaelen's voice resonated, not with menace, but with a weary recognition. He gestured to the crystal, which pulsed with an unsettling rhythm. "You see it, don't you, Elara? The dissonance. The broken symphony of existence."

Elara’s heart hammered against her ribs. The fragmented memories, the gnawing unease – it all felt amplified here, in the heart of whatever Kaelen was orchestrating. "What have you done?" she demanded, her voice trembling despite her resolve. "This city… it's dying."
