Silas Vane, his face a mask of sharp angles and colder ambition, stood before a holographic projection. It wasn’t a map, not in the traditional sense, but a complex network of data, cross-referenced with obscure historical texts and satellite imagery. The information coalesced, forming faint, shimmering outlines that mirrored the very patterns Elias was poring over.

“He’s found it,” a voice, smooth as polished obsidian, stated from the shadows. A tall, gaunt figure emerged, his eyes like chips of ice. “The boy, Thorne. He’s closer than any before him.”
