Chapter 4
Awakening in Eldoria
Arriving in Aerion's ancestral kingdom, Elara's dormant magic surges, vital for their survival. She becomes Aerion’s unexpected guide through Eldoria’s treacherous courts, her newfound abilities a beacon of hope amidst political intrigue.
The descent was a violent symphony of tearing air and screaming metal. One moment, Elara was clinging to Aerion, the familiar scent of his leather jacket a desperate anchor in the chaos of their escape; the next, the world inverted, the shimmering portal spitting them out onto solid ground with a jarring thud. She landed awkwardly, her breath catching in her throat, the residual energy of their flight thrumming through her veins like an unwelcome guest.
Aerion, ever the protector, was instantly on his feet, his hand reaching for her, pulling her up with a strength that belied the exhaustion etched on his face. "Are you alright, Elara?" His voice, usually so smooth and melodic, was rougher now, laced with a tension that echoed the pounding in her own chest.

Instead, they stood in a vast, echoing chamber carved from what looked like living stone. Luminescent crystals pulsed with a soft, ethereal light, casting dancing shadows across intricate carvings that depicted scenes of a history she couldn't begin to decipher. The air was crisp, carrying the faint, sweet scent of unfamiliar blossoms and something else, something ancient and profound.
