The crunch of the carrot was a symphony in Miku’s ears, a sweet, earthy melody that echoed the joy bubbling in his chest. It wasn’t just any carrot, of course. This was *the* carrot, the one whispered about in hushed tones, the one that had beckoned him into the shadowy maw of the Whispering Cave. And here he was, Miku the Magnificent, Miku the Marvelous, Miku the… well, Miku who had actually found the magical carrot! He took another enthusiastic bite, the crispness sending a shiver of delight down his spine.

The journey back felt different. The mossy stones that had seemed so foreboding on the way in now felt like friendly stepping stones, guiding his paws. The trickling water, which had sounded like an ominous warning before, now sang a cheerful tune. The cave, he realized with a little hop of triumph, hadn't been scary at all. But now, munching on this perfectly ordinary, yet utterly extraordinary, carrot, Miku had to admit, just to himself, that maybe, just maybe, the elders knew a thing or two. They had warned him about the cave, and while he hadn’t exactly listened, he had remembered enough of their advice – or rather, he’d remembered enough of the *opposite* of their advice, which had somehow led him to the right path – to navigate the silly challenges. It was a strange sort of listening, he supposed.
