Finally, Miku sees it! A single, bright orange carrot glowing faintly. It's not magic, but it's the most delicious-looking carrot he's ever seen. He realizes the journey was the real treasure.

The air in the cave hung thick and still, a velvety darkness that Miku’s twitching nose could only partially decipher. He’d tumbled through Barnaby’s riddles, bumbled past Flicker’s giggling glow, and skidded through the Echoing Chamber’s confusing chorus. Each step had been a lesson, a tiny nudge from the universe reminding him that maybe, just maybe, listening wasn’t such a bad idea after all. He still felt the phantom tickle of Barnaby’s bushy tail brushing his whiskers and the fading echo of Flicker’s punny pronouncements. But now, a new sensation prickled through him: anticipation.

He rounded a bend, his paws padding softly on the damp earth. The cave walls, which had been a uniform, uninteresting grey for what felt like ages, began to shimmer. Not with a fierce, blinding light, but with a gentle, almost shy luminescence. It was as if the very stones were exhaling a soft, warm glow. Miku’s ears, usually plastered flat against his head in a display of either intense focus or impending mischief, perked straight up, quivering with excitement. His heart, which had been thumping a frantic rhythm of fear and exhilaration, settled into a steady, happy beat.

And then he saw it.
