Following the song, the Wanderer’s ship emerged from the nebulae into a pocket of relative calm. Before them hung a crystalline city, impossibly delicate, its spires like frozen light. It was the home of the Aethel, a race whose existence was so intertwined with the cosmic vibrations that they were said to sing the universe into being.

The Wanderer landed on a platform that shimmered with an internal luminescence. As the ramp extended, figures emerged from the city’s embrace. They were tall and slender, their forms composed of pure, solidified light, their faces serene, their eyes like pools of captured starlight. They moved with a grace that suggested they were not walking, but flowing.
