Chapter 16
The Uprising
Inspired by Whiskers, dogs across Catdromeda begin to resist their masters. Chaos erupts as the old order starts to crumble.
The gilded cages of Catdromeda, once gleaming symbols of feline supremacy, began to rattle. Not with the playful batting of pampered paws, but with the tremors of a rising tide. Whispers, once confined to the hushed shadows of alleyways, now echoed in the grand halls, growing into a defiant roar. Whiskers, the unassuming servant with a heart full of forbidden dreams, had ignited a spark, and the galaxy was catching fire.
Across the sprawling metropolis of Felinia Prime, dogs, the silent backbone of this opulent society, began to stir. It started subtly. A guard dog, usually a statue of unwavering loyalty, paused, his ears perked not at the command of his feline master, but at the distant, rhythmic thudding of paws marching in unison. A servant dog, carrying a tray laden with delicate fish pastries, deliberately, almost imperceptibly, shifted his weight, creating a tiny imbalance that sent a single pastry tumbling to the polished floor. A small act of defiance, perhaps, but in the suffocating order of Catdromeda, it was a revolution.
Commander Rex, his obsidian fur shimmering under the artificial sunlight of his patrol route, felt the shift in the air like a coming storm. His keen senses, honed by years of enforcing the feline aristocracy’s iron grip, detected a discordance in the usual symphony of subservience. The dogs moved with a new purpose, their gazes, usually downcast, now held a glint of something he hadn’t seen before: resolve. He dismissed it at first, a fleeting anomaly in the vast machinery of their society. But the anomalies persisted, multiplying like stray kittens in a warm alley.
