Christopher pushed aside a curtain of ferns, their damp fronds tickling his nose, and stepped into a space that felt as if it had been waiting for him. It was a glade, dappled with sunlight that filtered through the impossibly tall canopy, painting shifting mosaics on the mossy ground. The air here was different, warmer, humming with a quiet energy that vibrated in his very bones. And there, nestled in the heart of this sunlit sanctuary, sat a chest.

It wasn't just any chest. This one was ancient, its dark wood intricately carved with swirling patterns that seemed to writhe and flow like water. Tarnished brass fittings adorned its corners, and a heavy, ornate lock gleamed dully, promising secrets held tight. It shimmered, not with the iridescence of wings, but with an inner light, like moonlight caught in dew. Its skin was the colour of new leaves, its hair a tangle of dandelion fluff, and its pointed ears twitched with an almost imperceptible curiosity. It wore a tunic woven from what looked like spider silk, stitched with tiny, luminous berries.
