1. 1A Strange DayLily and Tom were having a wonderful time playing when suddenly, strangers arrived. Their parents seemed sad and worried. Lily and Tom were told they had to go somewhere safe for a little while. They felt scared and very confused about what was happening.
2. 2A New, Cozy PlaceLily and Tom arrived at a welcoming place filled with other children and kind grown-ups. They were shown to soft, cozy beds and given delicious, warm meals. It was different from home, but the new surroundings felt safe and comforting.
3. 3Ms. Clara's Gentle WordsA very kind grown-up named Ms. Clara sat with Lily and Tom. She spoke softly, explaining that they were safe and loved. She told them this was a special place for them to rest and feel okay while things were sorted out.
4. 4Making a New FriendLily and Tom started to feel a little less worried. Ms. Clara helped them meet another child named Sam, who was very friendly. Together, they enjoyed painting colorful pictures, and Lily and Tom began to smile again.
5. 5A Glimmer of HopeMs. Clara told Lily and Tom that their parents were working hard to bring them home very soon. Hearing this news made Lily and Tom feel a little bit braver. They knew they would see their family again.
6. 6Brave HeartsLily held Tom's hand, feeling a little stronger. They were still sad to be away from home, but the kindness of Ms. Clara and their new friend gave them hope. They knew they could be brave together. They looked forward to going home.
