They told me I was crazy. The words, like little shards of ice, had lodged themselves deep inside, chilling the warmth that used to reside in my bones. Overthinking, they’d said. Imagining things. When all I was doing was trying to catch my breath, trying to make sense of the relentless barrage of whispers that followed me, the cold dread that clung to my skin like damp cloth. Isolation was a suffocating blanket, woven from the threads of their disbelief and my own dwindling hope. The anxiety, a constant hum beneath my skin, threatened to unravel me completely. Depression, a heavy cloak, draped itself over my shoulders, dimming the world to a muted gray. The paranoia, a constant companion, whispered doubts into my ear. Was this person paid to watch me? Did they know what I was trying to do? My grip tightened on the worn leather of my messenger bag, the weight of the data within a heavy burden. It was a snapshot of their deceit, a testament to their lies, yet it felt so fragile in the face of their power.
