Chapter 6: The Watcher in the Dark
Aaron, Lyra, and Silas return to the village, but Aaron is haunted by the red-eyed presence he sensed in the forest. The next morning, a wounded stranger arrives at the village with a warning about a shadow demon army gathering in the east. Aaron decides to investigate, and the chapter ends with him venturing into the forest alone, feeling the weight of an ancient hunger following him.
The forest was silent as they walked, but Aaron could feel it. A presence. Ancient, hungry, patient. It lurked just beyond the edge of his vision, a weight pressing against his chest. The shadow charm was cold again, but the darkness inside him stirred, restless.
"Aaron." Lyra's voice cut through the fog. "You're doing it again."
"Doing what?"
