Chapter 15: The Watcher's Return
Aaron recovers from the battle and begins rebuilding the village, but a new threat emerges as a mysterious figure watches from the forest. Lyra's magic reveals a dangerous secret, and Kael's vampires grow bolder, forcing Aaron to confront the lingering shadow within himself.
The morning sun cast long shadows across the village as Aaron stepped out of the cabin. The air smelled of smoke and earth, a lingering reminder of the siege. He stretched, feeling the ache in his muscles, the dull throb where the Heartstone had drained him. Lyra followed, her hand brushing his arm.
"You should rest more," she said.
"I've rested enough. There's work to do."
