Elara and William spend a peaceful day together after their kiss at the falls, deepening their bond through quiet moments and shared conversation. That evening, a strange disturbance at the edge of the forest hints at the ancient adversary's awakening, prompting Elara to prepare for the next step.
Breakfast at the cottage was warm with laughter and the scent of maple syrup. Elara sat beside William, their knees touching under the table. Every time she reached for the butter or passed a plate, her fingers brushed his arm, and a small smile tugged at her lips.
Lyra noticed, of course. She arched an eyebrow from across the table, her fork halfway to her mouth. "You two are glowing. Did something happen at the falls?"
William's ears turned red. He busied himself with his pancakes.
