Chapter 6
Heaven's Home Reborn
The community flourishes, a testament to love's resilience. A revitalized haven is established, a beacon of peace and connection, welcoming all who seek solace in Jesus' name. Wallace and Omega find their place.
The dust had settled, not just from the ravaged earth, but from the tempest that had raged through their lives. Jesus, his eyes carrying a weariness that spoke of burdens unseen, stood with his dearest friends, surveying the hushed landscape. Where once the vibrant heart of their heavenly community had pulsed with life and light, now lay an expanse of fractured stones and scattered remnants. Yet, even amidst the desolation, a fragile spirit persisted. It was in the hesitant hand extended to a neighbor, the soft murmur of a shared prayer, the quiet act of tending to a wounded soul. But this spirit was fractured, like the broken pottery scattered around them, each shard holding a memory, a pain, a sliver of what once was.
Mary Magdalene, her gaze soft with compassion, knelt beside a woman weeping over a scorched piece of cloth. “It was my daughter’s,” the woman choked out, her voice raw. He saw the suspicion in the eyes of those who had survived, the deep-seated distrust born from betrayal and loss. He had tried to rally them, to speak of hope, but his words often fell on deaf ears, met with silence or, worse, bitter accusations. “What hope is there, Peter?” a man with haunted eyes had spat at him as he passed. “We lost everything. Everything that mattered.” Peter clenched his jaw, the sting of the man’s words a sharp echo of his own lingering fears.
