Chapter 10
Harness or Seal
A climactic battle erupts. Boniface must choose between harnessing the energy for good or sealing it away forever, all while fighting off his rivals and the ruins' volatile power.
The air in the central chamber crackled, not with the dry dust of ages, but with a palpable, humming energy. Boniface, his heart a frantic drum against his ribs, stared at the pulsating crystal at the chamber’s core. It wasn’t a gem, not as he knew them. It was a sun contained, a captured lightning storm, radiating a warmth that felt both vital and terrifying. The whispers, once faint murmurs on the jungle breeze, were now a symphony of voices, a cacophony of pleas and warnings that swirled around him, a psychic maelstrom. He stood at the chamber’s entrance, a smug smile plastered across his face, Captain Thorne a hulking shadow at his side. Thorne’s hand rested on the hilt of a wicked-looking blade, his eyes fixed on Boniface with predatory intent.
Boniface’s grip tightened on the ancient artifact he’d found earlier, a smooth, obsidian disc etched with glowing runes. It felt warm in his hand, a comforting counterpoint to the chaotic energy surging around them. “It’s not for you, Silas. You can’t comprehend what this is.”
