Akamaru, pressed against his leg, let out a low growl, a sound that vibrated deep in my chest. Kuroha, usually a blur of motion, sat utterly still, her amber eyes fixed on something unseen, a silent sentinel radiating a palpable unease.
"They know," Kiba murmured, his voice tight. "They know about us. About everything."
